Overview

Ayvana, nestled in the heart of Tarzana on Ventura Boulevard, offers a refined taste of Persian cuisine that feels both authentic and inviting. This restaurant stands out for its thoughtful approach to traditional dishes, served in a space that balances casual comfort with subtle elegance. It’s a spot that appeals equally to locals seeking a genuine Persian dining experience and food enthusiasts eager to explore the rich culinary heritage of Iran.

The menu showcases vibrant flavors shaped by fresh, often locally sourced ingredients. Start with the Sabzi Khordan, a fresh herb platter featuring mint, basil, tarragon, and radish, paired with feta and walnuts—a crisp, herbaceous beginning that teases the palate. The Dolmeh, grape leaves stuffed lovingly with a mix of rice, herbs, split peas, and tender meat, offer a comforting blend of textures and spices that embody Persian homestyle cooking.

Main courses highlight grilled perfection and slow-cooked depth. The Beef Koobideh Kabob is a standout—juicy, well-seasoned sirloin grilled over an open flame, presenting a rich aroma and satisfying char. For those craving a signature dish, the Ghormeh Sabzi stew combines fresh herbs, kidney beans, and beef in a slow-simmered harmony of flavors that speak to the heart of Persian comfort food. Seafood lovers will appreciate the Fish Kabob, featuring the delicate Idaho trout, a delightful alternative showcasing the versatility of Persian skewers.

Beyond the dishes, the experience is enhanced by the staff’s attention to detail and warm hospitality, making each visit feel personal. The space itself is inviting without being overdone—accenting the food with an ambiance that encourages both casual lunches and intimate dinners. Ayvana’s focus on halal ingredients and authentic preparations also broadens its appeal to diverse diners, including those mindful of dietary considerations.

Ultimately, Ayvana offers more than a meal; it offers a gateway to Persian culture through food. Its carefully curated menu, balanced flavors, and welcoming atmosphere create a dining experience that is as enriching as it is delicious—a true gem on Ventura Boulevard for anyone eager to savor the nuances of Persian cuisine.

Warm, authentic Persian food paired with genuinely thoughtful service. We had our dog with us, and the staff couldn’t have been kinder, welcoming him warmly and even bringing water without us asking. That small gesture says a lot about their hospitality. Our waitress, Razi, was attentive, calm, and professional, exactly the kind of service that lets you relax and enjoy the meal. Food-wise: Koobideh was perfectly seasoned and juicy. Tahdig Ghormeh Sabzi was rich, aromatic, and beautifully balanced—the kind of comfort dish that reminds you why this cuisine matters. A place that understands both taste and care. We’ll be back.

Much needed an elegant and high quality restaurant in the Valley…We went there to check the place out and fell in love with the quality of the food, taste and atmosphere of the place. By far it’s our favorite Persian restaurant throughout the LA. We highly recommend trying all of their food as you won’t be disappointed. We will definitely will be back for more and planing to have our corporate holiday event in there as they have a separate space dedicated for special occasions.

Everything was truly wonderful ٫from the fresh, juicy kebabs and the delicious rice that smelled just like real Iranian rice, to the beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. The (Bagh Shiraz) cocktail was amazing as well; unlike many other restaurants, it actually had alcohol and the flavor was new, unique, and really enjoyable. The service was excellent, and the staff were warm, friendly, and made us feel completely at home. I genuinely recommend this place, especially for Iranians who love authentic kebabs.

Amazing Persian Food & Great Service I had the ghormeh sabzi and it was absolutely fantastic — rich flavor, perfectly balanced herbs, and super tender meat. One of the best I’ve had anywhere. My friend ordered the soltani and loved it just as much. The portions were generous and everything tasted fresh. The service was excellent, and the hostess Melody was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!

If you're looking for delicious Persian cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit. We were extremely happy with our meal, which included the Cornish served alongside Basmati rice and Tahcheen. Not only was the food excellent, but the staff also provided truly top-tier service. The setting is very pleasant, offering a choice between dining inside or outside.

Definitely the most luxurious and classy Persian restaurant I have ever experienced, both in the U.S. and Europe—and I’ve seen many. The hostess and staff are incredibly friendly. Even though they are young, they behave with true professionalism. Hygiene is clearly a top priority, which makes the whole experience very reassuring. And the best part—of course—the food. Absolutely delicious: homemade, super fresh, high quality, and generous portions. Wishing this restaurant great success.
